Dennis “Jocko” Zaski, age 76, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away suddenly on August 28, 2026.
He was born on March 15, 1950, in Jackson to his parents, the late Richard and Lottie Zaski. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Zaski.

Jocko is survived by his loving daughter, Kristin Mees, and his cherished grandchildren, Jordyn Mees and Hailey Mees. He also leaves behind his brothers, Rick (Cheryl) Zaski and Tim (Laurie) Zaski; his adopted brother, Rick Losey; his sister-in-law, Teresa Zaski; his nephews, Casey, Cody, and Michael; and his niece, Adrienne.

Jocko was a man of deep faith and a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church until its closing where he attended Mass at Our Lady of Fatima. Dedicated to his heritage and community, he was a long-time member of the Polish Falcons Nest 336, where he also proudly served as president for a time. He enjoyed a successful career and eventually retired from Libra Industries, where he served as Vice President.

An avid golfer and a passionate Michigan football fan, Jocko loved spending time on the golf course and taking trips to the casino. He was also a passionate chef and had many famous Polish family dishes. For 42 consecutive years, he took great pride in planning the Northern Michigan Invitational, a cherished annual golf trip "up north" that brought his closest family and friends together.

Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He treasured watching his granddaughters grow and especially loved attending their volleyball and basketball games. You could always hear Jocko in the stands, serving proudly as their biggest cheerleader. His booming voice, infectious energy, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Jocko's family will receive friends for visitation at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 913 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center, MI 49254 on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Per his wishes cremation will take place following and a private family inurnment at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date.
